Our Mill

Our production lines

We run two kinds of machine at this production site: printing machines and embroidery machines. The print line carries out sublimation printing on polyester cloth. The Schiffli line produces lace. Our design team draws the designs for both lines.

Sublimation

Sublimation can only be carried out on polyester cloth, and that condition is a property of the process. Under high heat the ink passes over the liquid stage and turns straight into gas, then enters the fibre of the cloth. That colour sits inside the thread, so it does not crack, peel or wash out. The base cloth has to meet three conditions. Its absorbency has to be even, its width has to hold after heat setting, and it must not contain optical brightener. That agent shifts the colour, and its effect is only visible on the second roll, once production is already running. We place cloth that meets all three of those conditions on our Sublim Ready list.

Schiffli

Schiffli embroidery is carried out on a machine that runs hundreds of needles at once, on the same repeat across the width of the cloth. Once the stitching is finished, we cut away or dissolve the ground cloth. The unit of work is the repeat, and the repeat is settled before the machine is run. A repeat that is out by one millimetre reproduces that difference hundreds of times across the same width. For that reason we carry out our own punching.

Company profile

PT Sipata Moda Indonesia was established in 2008 in Batujajar, West Bandung Regency. The company is privately held and has no affiliation with a foreign group. We are an integrated textile mill. We produce, dye and finish our own cloth, then embroider or print it, and sew it into finished garments. All of those stages run inside one group and under one QC team, so we control quality, schedule and production cost ourselves.

  • 01 A textile mill with its own dyeing and finishing facilities
  • 02 Creative and technical laboratories: embroidery, digital print, and garment testing
  • 03 Three garment units on separate sites, so that capacity can be added
  • 04 Kyocera digital print technology since 2019, medical textiles since 2020

The three garment units are deliberately sited apart from one another. With that separation, a single large order does not take up the whole capacity of the mill, and each unit is able to run on its own. Our principal machinery comes from Switzerland.

The garment line

Our garment line sews cloth from our own mill into finished garments. The mill and that garment line sit inside one group.

Two classes of workwear cloth

Alongside the fashion cloth we supply fabric for workwear by the metre. There are two classes: the normal class for work where the hazard is mechanical, and the FR class for work where the hazard is fire. The normal class does not resist flame. The normal class must never be used in place of the FR class. We draw up the fabric specification from the type of hazard at your site, and we need that information from the outset.

Vision and mission

To be a solution provider for textile and healthcare products, offering the highest quality at competitive prices, and employing environmentally friendly production methods.

This quotation comes from the company profile and states the company's intent. It does not serve as a specification.

  1. 01 To raise the knowledge and the skill of the Indonesian workforce, so that Made in Indonesia products can be exported at a quality that stands up.
  2. 02 To keep pace with the technology and to run our own research, so that the product improves without a rise in cost following it.
  3. 03 To apply environmentally sound processes and safe chemicals at every stage of production, including the final product.

Processes we run ourselves

  • Design studio

Our design team sits inside the mill and releases more than a thousand new motifs every month. The team also works on a repeat you send us.

  • Base cloth preparation

We prepare the base cloth by scouring, heat setting and width control. The width has to hold after heat setting so that the print matches from one roll to the next.

  • Sublimation printing

We print your design by sublimation onto more than 45 fabric types, in woven, knit and mesh constructions. All of that cloth is polyester, because the sublimation process only works on polyester fibre.

  • Punching & sampling

We program the embroidery design by punching, then stitch the sample on your base cloth. That sample shows the actual embroidery result on that cloth.

  • Finishing & packing

The final stage covers washing, heat setting, inspection, rolling, and packing to your shipping marks. We carry out inspection before rolling, because cloth that has been rolled cannot be inspected in full.

  • OEM service

We run your specification in full, covering base cloth, repeat, colour, width and packing.
