Sublimation print on polyester fabric, available in woven, knit and mesh constructions.

Sublim Ready

Our digital printing line carries out sublimation printing on polyester fabric. We accept your design as a file and print it onto a base cloth from the list below. Under high heat the ink turns to gas and enters the polyester fibre. The print does not crack, does not peel, and holds after washing. The process applies to polyester fabric only, because sublimation ink does not bond to cotton fibre.

The hand of the cloth, its drape, and the way it takes ink decide the printed result. All three can only be judged on the actual cloth. We supply a physical sample of any base cloth on this list.

Requirements for a cloth on this list

We check the following three points on every polyester cloth before it goes on this list. All three only show once the cloth has been through high heat, and the print at that stage is permanent.

  • Even absorbency

    The ink has to go down evenly right across the width. Uneven absorbency produces patchy colour.

  • Stable width after heat setting

    This cloth is exposed to high heat before printing and again during printing. If the width moves after heat setting, the printed size no longer matches your pattern.

  • No optical brightener

    An optical brightener raises the whiteness of the cloth. It changes under high heat and the result differs from roll to roll, so your printed colours shift with it.
